Jungle refers to Jungle Calais in which the refugee migrant people are piled up in rough dorms. There are two ‘beds’ attached to the wood bar, they show small detail and invite the viewer to a closer view, in a state of intimacy and perhaps discomfort as well.
In Proust’s ‘La recherché du temps perdu’ the network of signs disappears and reappears somewhere else in the book, just like the elements in my surface. My painting work comes all at once and grew organically from a germ or a seed.
